Welcome to Utahns for Restorative Sexual Offense Laws
Our Mission
At Utahns for Restorative Sexual Offense Laws (URSOL), we are committed to providing accurate information and mutual support to individuals and families affected by the State of Utah's Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. We acknowledge the harm caused by all forms of sexual victimization, and the need for clinical treatment and safety in our communities. But we also deem current laws to be mostly ineffective and unnecessarily cruel.
Our mission is to empower registered Utahns to complete parole/probation successfully and to help them regain a sense of dignity and confidence living under the restrictions of registration, and the oppression of social stigma and exclusion.
We hold regular meetings online to build community, share experiences, and/or organize for change. All registrants, family members (18+), and their trusted allies are welcome to attend.
URSOL is currently an aspiring affiliate of the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL). Although we do not offer any legal advice, we do offer help understanding what Utah's laws actually say and what their requirements are.
